There are many excellent bike classes in New Mexico. New Mexico is home to over 40 League of American Bicyclists Certified Instructors and the organization, New Mexico Bicycling Educators. In ‘Burque, the City of Albuquerque’s Bicycle Safety Education Program is one of the best bicycle education programs in the United States, reaching over 10,000 youth and over 1,000 adults annually. The program includes Bicycle Rodeos, teaching youth about helmets and traffic safety, classes for motorists in participating Driver’s Education schools, classes for bicycle commuting, mechanics and more. It is one of the reasons that Albuquerque is considered such a bicycle friendly city. You can subscribe to the free, bi-monthly E-newsletter for the City’s bike safety program here.
Albuquerque isn’t the only place with plenty of great bike education! Bike Santa Fe in the capitol, the NM Bicycle Educators members who are in Las Cruces, and more in Los Alamos, Silver City and Socorro all have great bicycle education groups.
Whether you are getting back on the bike after 20 years or you are a pro racer, there is something for you in one of many excellent classes offered in NM.
