Share The Road
On demand: Share The Road presentations are brought to you by the City of Albuquerque’s Bicycle Safety Education Program. Share The Road is a free program offered to drivers’ education instructors, The City of Albuquerque’s Defensive Driving Course and companies or organizations, where The City of Albuquerque’s Bicycle Safety Education Program’s League of American Bicyclists instructor speaks for approximately a half-hour about the rights and responsibilities of bicyclists and motorists on the roadway.
Traffic Skills
Periodic: Traffic Skills class, brought to you by the City of Albuquerque’s Bicycle Safety Education Program. This is a full-day League of American Bicyclists class. Learn about biking as a vehicular cyclist, bike fit, basic bike maintenance, special riding techniques for emergency situations and much more. This class includes seminar format, hands-on and on-bike skills practice. This class includes a League of American Bicyclists Traffic Skills booklet, complimentary patch kit and a League of American Bicyclists certificate for participants who successfully complete the class.

Bicycle Rodeo
On demand: Bicycle Rodeos, bicycle safety education for youth, brought to you by the City of Albuquerque’s Bicycle Safety Education Program. Bicycle Rodeos are a free bicycle safety program for youth, ages 7-10. This program teaches the youth how to avoid injuries as they “drive” their bike, through a safety talk and a hands-on experience. This program reaches over 10,000 youth each year, including classes in over 70 elementary schools.
Pumped Up!
On Demand: Flat repair and bicycle safety education is offered to middle school students for free. Brought to you by the City of Albuquerque’s Bicycle Safety Education Program. To encourage middle school students to bike more and to bike safely, this is a free one-hour flat repair class, with a talk on helmet and traffic safety and important maintenance tips. This part lecture, part hands-on class teaches youth how to change their own flat tires, identify mechanical problems, keep their bicycle maintained, the importance of helmet use and how to drive their bicycles safely; in a fun and engaging presentation. This presentation is offered both during and after school hours.

This hybrid course gives you the confidence to ride safely and legally in traffic. In addition to the online material, this course includes a short in-class review of basic rules of the road, and 3 hours on-bike practice of avoidance maneuvers and in-road traffic skills.
